WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR OF GOVERNORS
My name is Rhona Barnett and I am delighted to have recently been elected as Chair of the Governing Body. I am very proud to say that the Governing Body is currently fully subscribed, anyone who is involved with a governing body will know how rare that is in Birmingham. This is a testament to the value that this school places in it's governors and the good working relationship we have with the leadership team at the school.
I have been involved with the school since my first child started here in 1998, joining the governing body 2 years later when my second child joined the school. I currently have a son in reception, however the family history goes right back to when my husband was one of the first intake when the school was new. I live very close to the school so I look at Brookvale not only as a place of education but as an integral part of the community in and around Brookvale Village.
As a local resident and a parent I want this school to be the best it can be, over the last couple of years there have been great strides to improve what was already a friendly small school with a real community feel to it, into a place where children want to be, want to learn and a place that they will leave with the right attitude to take them on into Secondary School and beyond, and equally as important fond memories to last them a lifetime.
